RMFC was founded to close a specific and persistent gap. First Nations communities and Indigenous organizations across Canada operate under the same threat landscape as any major government or enterprise — but rarely have access to the public safety, cyber, and intelligence capabilities that landscape requires.
Off-the-shelf vendors do not understand the governance accountability structure of Chief and Council. National security firms are not built for community-scale deployments. And the operational gap between under-resourced local response and RCMP coverage gets papered over with documentation that does not survive an ISC funding review.
